Challenges and opportunities for the development of digital communication in Mozambique

The article examines the evolution of digital communication in Mozambique and the impact of emerging technologies — Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, and immersive applications — on the communication ecosystem. The literature review highlights tensions between technological innovation and structural limitations, such as unequal access, low digital literacy, and institutional weaknesses. Findings show that digitalization combines platform expansion, local cultural practices, and dependence on global infrastructures. It is concluded that the transformative potential of these technologies depends on the coordination of infrastructure, capacity building, regulation, and local cultural production, making digital
communication a strategic dimension for sustainable development in the Mozambican context
