Affective cartographies at congados in Berilo, Minas Gerais

This article presents cartographic movement as a methodological and analytical basis for research in the field of Communication on the meanings of Congado in Berilo, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The cartographic construction is presented as basis of this work, considering the affective, ethical, and political dimensions that compose the process of collaborative knowledge creation with subjects involved in social research. Theoretical references include, among others: Virgínia Kastrup (2007), Sueli Rolnik (2011), and Alexander Ocaña and Maria López (2019). As empirical evidence, we present the construction of affective maps performed with the community on the understanding of Congado in the region. Based on the reflections and experiences presented in this article, it was possible to verify that cartographic processes in fact organized a fundamental methodological and analytical foundation for the study of the complex cultural practice of Congado in Berilo.
