Paths to a reading of Ciro Marcondes Filho’s works: a didactical approach
Abstract
Throughout about forty years as a teacher and researcher, Ciro Marcondes Filho has published more than 20 books on communication. How can someone approach such a work? This paper proposes a preliminary map to his works, grounded on a didactical reading of his books. It argues that Marcondes Filho’s research has developed in at least four main directions: (1) studies on media, power and ideology; (2) journalism studies; (3) the new communication theory and (4) seconded by textbooks and popular science books. Instead of a strictly chronological approach, a subject-based approach might contribute to those who would like to have a first contact with Marcondes Filho’s works – not as a system, but as a multi-layered contribution to Communication research.
